We have a great opportunity for a Senior Data Protection Manager to shape HMLR's approach to AI governance and data protection. This is a specialist leadership role within HM Land Registry's Information Rights Team, responsible for shaping and delivering the organisation's strategic approach to data protection compliance, with a particular focus on the ethical and lawful use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) involving personal data. Operating at SEO+ level, the post holder will provide expert advice and mentoring across the organisation, influence cross-functional teams, and lead on the development and implementation of AI governance frameworks aligned with UK GDPR and ICO guidance., We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:

Practical experience of providing expert data protection advice particularly in relation to AI and machine learning projects. The sift will take place shortly after the closing date. If successful at shortlisting stage, you will be invited to attend a virtual, blended interview and deliver a pre-prepared presentation. Details will be provided on invitation to interview. The blended interview will test the Experience and Behaviours listed in the Candidate Pack, as well as the strengths associated with the role. You have experience of risk management, particularly in emerging technologies and in influencing stakeholders at all levels. Where an individual taking up the responsibility will be based in Swansea Office, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable., Practitioner level qualification in data protection such as the British Computer Society Certificate Practitioner level or equivalent
