Job description

Our 'Sandwell Deal', brings together our new improved offering that make Sandwell Children's Trust a great place to work; it also sets out our expectations of you as a member of staff., Sandwell Children's Trust is seeking a skilled and proactive SQL and Power BI Developer to enhance and expand our performance framework, ensuring it effectively reflects the requirements of the Families First Partnership programme.

As a Power Bi SQL and SAP Developer you will:

  • Lead responsibility for the development, implementation and maintenance of Power Bi and SQL development of reporting requirements within Sandwell Children's Trust.
  • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of Power Bi to ensure reporting requirements for the Families First Partnership programme.
  • Operational management (primarily in Microsoft SQL Server), including robust back-up and data recovery arrangements and integrity of data across all Social Care Systems and Performance Reporting.
  • Planning, testing and implementing technical upgrades to Social Care Systems and Power Bi.
  • Develop and maintain highly complex automated data using Microsoft SQL Server and a range of other professional development and data management tools, with a particular focus on importing, categorising and presenting data within the Trust's reporting systems.
  • Identify, specify, plan and implement a range of highly complex technical systems and performance development projects.
  • Deputise for Management at meetings and team management where necessary. Develop and maintain CONTROCC Financial Systems reports.
  • Develop Power BI reporting for Families First.

Requirements

  • Educated to degree standard in IT/statistics or minimum 2 years experience within SQL or Power BI reporting. At least two years experience of:-

  • working within in a role which involves the extensive use of electronic systems for case recording;

  • working on systems projects requiring a significant amount of change management;

  • developing, supporting, managing and implementing social care systems;

  • working with LCS, EHM or equivalent systems;

  • supporting social care practitioners and managers in making effective use of social care systems;

  • working with performance team, system administrators, trainers and third party suppliers.

  • Ability to work with others and co-ordinate activities.

  • Ability to work as part of a team.

  • Accepting responsibility readily.

  • Willingness to understand and take others views on board.

  • Ability to sell new ideas and instil confidence and enthusiasm in end users.

  • Excellent communicator with ability to present positive messages and enthusiasm for change.

  • Willingness to coach and mentor performance analysts to improve SQL expertise across the team and organisation.
