Job description
data scientist / statistician / modeller with a background in statistical modelling and machine learning. You'll work closely with a senior modeller on regression models, econometric-style modelling, brand-health metrics, and the connections between marketing signals and sales. This role directly contributes to the creation of the Minimum Viable Product, helping build the mathematical foundations of the brand-measurement engine., * Build and support regression models, mathematical models, and brand-health measurement metrics under the guidance of a senior modeller.
- Work with marketing-relateddatasets including:
- paid social and paid media metrics
- sentiment and brand resonance
- purchase intent signals
- weekly/monthly sales data
- distribution, pricing, promotion data
- Assist in connecting brand metrics to commercial sales outcomes.
- Work with AWS-hosted data environments (S3, Aurora) alongside engineers.
- Develop models that emulate marketing/econometric approaches in a more accessible and scalable way.
- Contribute to building the MVP alongside data engineers, AI specialists, and product leadership.
- Operate pragmatically in a small, high-velocity startup.
Requirements
- Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or similar.
- 2-3+ years of experience building statistical or ML models (ideal for someone entering contracting).
- Strong skills in:
- Regression modelling
- Mathematical modelling
- Machine Learning fundamentals
- Bayesian modelling
- Proficiency in Python and/or R.
- Understanding of marketing or brand metrics is highly beneficial.
- Experience with econometric-style models (e.g., MMM) is a plus, not mandatory.
- Comfort working with APIs and third-party marketing data sources.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to marketing measurement, econometrics, or brand-tracking datasets.
- Worked with platforms like Brandwatch or similar sentiment/marketing data providers.
- Experience in early-stage product builds.
