Key duties include:
- Proactively review key performance indicators and various reports across the entire accounts payable process to identify pain points and initiate corrective actions where possible, escalating issues when necessary.
- Prioritise process improvements using sound rationale and previous experience, confidently presenting your recommendations to senior stakeholders for consideration.
- Present logical and coherent arguments during Design Forums and Senior Leadership Team meetings to advocate for positive changes within the accounts payable process.
- Plan, coordinate, test, and implement change initiatives that drive efficiency and effectiveness throughout the accounts payable function.
- Utilise your ERP expertise to create ad hoc reports, manage issue resolution based on error messages, and ensure smooth system operations.
- Perform advanced data analysis using tools such as Excel and Power BI to generate league tables and monitor KPIs.
- Demonstrate flexibility by transitioning between sub-teams as required, providing guidance and coaching to less experienced colleagues facing challenging or non-standard business scenarios.
- Collaborate with procurement teams, business end users, key vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and alignment on process improvements.
- Support ongoing process standardisation efforts by documenting procedures and sharing best practices across the wider finance team.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by actively seeking feedback from stakeholders and implementing lessons learned into future projects.
Requirements
To excel as a Data Analyst in this role, you will bring a wealth of practical experience analysing data and formulating reports within large organisations. Your background should include significant exposure to ERP systems where you have demonstrated an aptitude for resolving technical issues swiftly while maintaining high standards of accuracy. Your advanced Excel skills enable you to manipulate large datasets effortlessly-extracting actionable insights that inform strategic decisions.
You will also have experience in the following areas:
- Extensive hands-on experience with ERP systems including strong familiarity with purchase requisitions (PR), purchase orders (PO), goods receipts (GR), and troubleshooting error codes within ERP environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with proven ability to perform complex data analysis tasks such as creating Pivot Tables, applying Filters, using CONCAT/IF/VLOOKUP functions, generating graphs, and producing insightful reports.
- Expert understanding of end-to-end accounts payable processes including supplier payment methods s
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook for effective communication management as well as Word for documentation purposes; ability to produce advanced PowerPoint presentations for stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated capability in monitoring KPIs across financial processes to identify inefficiencies or risks while initiating appropriate corrective actions or escalations when needed.
- Experience prioritising multiple change items simultaneously using clear rationale supported by data-driven insights; comfortable presenting these priorities confidently to senior leaders.
- Strong analytical skills utilising Power BI or similar tools for visualising data trends, building league tables, tracking performance metrics, and supporting evidence-based decision making.
