Job description
Differentis is seeking a Solution Architect who would undertake a multi-phase (Discovery, Alpha, and Beta) programme to enhance Violence Harm Risk Assessment (VHRA) tools and techniques used to identify Habitual Knife Carriers (HKCs). The role involves analysing two existing solutions used by separate Police Forces, assessing their architecture, data flows, automation capabilities, and alignment with operational, ethical, and evidential requirements. The architect will deliver clear, actionable recommendations to inform the development of a scalable, accurate, and ethically robust HKC index for policing., * Review and evaluate two candidate technical solutions for automating HKC index creation.
- Analyse solution architecture, data flows, integration points, and automation capabilities.
- Assess alignment with operational, ethical, legal, and evidential requirements.
- Identify strengths, weaknesses, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide clear technical recommendations and alternative approaches where required.
- Produce a concise evaluation report summarising findings and recommendations.
- Communicate technical insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Solution architecture?, IR35 Determination: Inside IR35 (must be willing to onboard as on a payroll PAYE contractor or via umbrella company), * Proven experience as a Solution Architect in data-driven environments, ideally within policing or public safety.
- Strong background in data engineering and data architecture, including large-scale data integration, ETL processes, and automation.
- Understanding of data science and machine learning concepts related to risk modelling and predictive analytics.
- Experience with cloud platforms and modern data tools (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, R Studio).
- Strong knowledge of data governance, security, ethics, and handling of sensitive information.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience producing technical evaluation reports with actionable recommendations.
- Desirable to have knowledge of police crime data systems and multi-agency data sharing essential
- Desirable to have experience with agile methodologies and sprint-based delivery (desirable).
