Job description
The Application Support Analyst is responsible for providing technical and functional support for business-critical applications across the organisation. This role ensures the smooth operation, maintenance, and optimisation of software systems, acting as a key point of contact for end-users and stakeholders. You will troubleshoot issues, manage incidents, and support application upgrades and enhancements, working closely with IT, vendors, and business teams to deliver high-quality service., * Provide first and second-line support for business applications, resolving incidents and service requests.
- Monitor application performance, proactively identifying and addressing issues.
- Liaise with vendors and internal teams to escalate and resolve complex problems.
- Support application upgrades, patching, and configuration changes.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including troubleshooting guides and user manuals.
- Deliver training and guidance to end-users on application functionality.
- Participate in testing and deployment of new application features and releases.
- Ensure compliance with IT security, data protection, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives within application support.
- Report on support metrics, trends, and user satisfaction.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
- Experience in application support or IT service desk
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and service management
- Experience with business applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, bespoke systems)
- Familiarity with SQL, scripting, or basic programming
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience with incident, problem, and change management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
