Job description

The Application Support Analyst is responsible for providing technical and functional support for business-critical applications across the organisation. This role ensures the smooth operation, maintenance, and optimisation of software systems, acting as a key point of contact for end-users and stakeholders. You will troubleshoot issues, manage incidents, and support application upgrades and enhancements, working closely with IT, vendors, and business teams to deliver high-quality service., * Provide first and second-line support for business applications, resolving incidents and service requests.

  • Monitor application performance, proactively identifying and addressing issues.
  • Liaise with vendors and internal teams to escalate and resolve complex problems.
  • Support application upgrades, patching, and configuration changes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including troubleshooting guides and user manuals.
  • Deliver training and guidance to end-users on application functionality.
  • Participate in testing and deployment of new application features and releases.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security, data protection, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives within application support.
  • Report on support metrics, trends, and user satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
  • Experience in application support or IT service desk
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and service management
  • Experience with business applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, bespoke systems)
  • Familiarity with SQL, scripting, or basic programming
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Experience with incident, problem, and change management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
