Job description

Pixel is seeking a talented, product-focused UI/UX Designer to join our growing team in Edinburgh. This is a strategic role responsible for architecting and building the official Pixel Design Language and crafting the interface of our next-generation SaaS products and core internal systems. You will work directly with the leadership team to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) features into the user experience., As our UI/UX Designer, you will be a champion of design excellence and usability across our product suite:

  • Product Vision & Execution: Lead the end-to-end UI/UX design process for our client-facing SaaS solutions and internal systems. You will partner with Product Managers to translate low-fidelity strategy into design-ready, high-fidelity interfaces across all platforms (mobile/desktop).
  • Design System Ownership & Governance: Architect, audit, and maintain the Pixel Design Language and its scalable component library in Figma, ensuring long-term visual consistency and efficiency across all products.
  • User Research & Optimisation: Conduct user research, create detailed flows, wireframes, and prototypes to champion user-centred design principles, continuously optimising complex system interactions based on testing, data, and feedback loops.
  • AI Integration & Innovation: Be at the forefront of integrating AI and machine learning concepts into new customer-facing products, actively enhancing the user experience and utilising AI tools to optimise your own design workflows.
  • Collaboration & Quality Assurance (QA): Serve as the central design point, articulating rationale to stakeholders and working collaboratively with the Product Manager and Development teams. Requirements

Do you have experience in UX?, * Exceptional Visual Design Foundation: Proven experience in UI/UX design with a strong portfolio that showcases mastery of typography, information hierarchy, and layout, specifically applied to the design of data-heavy dashboards and complex SaaS applications.

  • AI Curiosity: Demonstrable interest or experience in AI UI patterns and a clear eagerness to learn how to design for generative technology.
  • Design Tools Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency with the industry-standard design and prototyping tool Figma.
  • Methodology: Up-to-date knowledge of current design trends, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Legal Right to Work: Must be currently based in the UK with the legal right to work., * Proactive & Curious: Eager to learn new technologies and stay current with the rapidly evolving design and AI landscapes.
  • Collaborative: A supportive team player with excellent problem-solving abilities and a constructive approach to critique.
