Are you a creative and high-performing SAP professional ready to lead a talented team? The University of Sheffield is seeking an exceptional SAP Development Team Leader to drive innovation and excellence in our Technology function.
As part of our strategic transformation, you'll lead a team of skilled engineers delivering critical enterprise systems including Finance, HR, Payroll, and Purchasing systems. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping how we support 30,000+ students and staff through world-class IT services.
What You'll Do:
- Manage and develop our SAP Development team, fostering a culture of high performance and technical excellence.
- Provide clear guidance and mentorship to help team members reach their full potential.
- Champion professional development and keep the team's skills cutting-edge.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Delivery Leads to shape product roadmaps.
- Translate business needs into value-driven technical solutions.
- Work with architecture teams to create robust development and operations strategies.
- Ensure systems are properly managed, documented, and maintained to the highest standards.
- Lead agile project teams and act as the technical point of contact.
- Drive continuous improvements in systems, processes, and working practices.
What You'll Bring:
- A good honours degree in a related field OR substantial relevant experience.
- Leadership skills with experience (or willingness to develop) in building high-performing teams.
- Significant experience running production ERP systems in complex environments.
- Track record of driving continual improvements and delivering efficiency gains.
- Strong planning and prioritisation skills for system maintainability.
- Excellent communication and influencing abilities across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Problem-solving capability with appreciation of long-term implications.
£48,822 to £58,225 per annum, potential to progress to £65,509.
