Job description
The Data Center Manager is responsible for ensuring the continuous, secure, and efficient operation of all data center facilities. This role oversees day-to-day operations, manages critical infrastructure, and ensures compliance with regulatory and industry standards. In addition to maintaining high availability and reliability, the position involves leading a skilled team and coordinating activities that support operational excellence and customer satisfaction., * Oversee the daily operation of data center infrastructure including power, cooling, fire suppression, security, and monitoring systems
- Ensure uptime and SLA commitments through proactive facility maintenance and incident response
- Manage preventive and corrective maintenance schedules in coordination with internal teams and vendors
- Review and optimize facility processes to improve energy efficiency and operational excellence
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technicians and facility engineers
- Oversee shift scheduling, workload distribution, performance reviews, and training plans
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Customer Interaction & Stakeholder Management
- Host and lead customer meetings, technical tours, and discussions on data center performance and capabilities
- Act as the main escalation point for customer issues related to facilities and infrastructure
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
Compliance, Audits & Documentation
- Prepare for, lead, and support internal and external audits (ISO, SOC, compliance, health & safety)
- Ensure all operational activities comply with regulatory, safety, and company standards
- Maintain accurate documentation, SOPs, work permits, and reports
Technical Expertise
- Apply strong electrical engineering knowledge to analyze and solve technical issues in power distribution, UPS systems, generators, and electrical infrastructure
- Support root-cause analysis of incidents and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate technical upgrades, expansions, and improvement projects
Administrative & Software Skills
- Utilize Microsoft Office and other productivity tools to create reports, presentations, budgets, and planning documents
- Manage vendor contracts, purchase orders, and service documentation
- Track metrics, KPIs, and operational performance indicators
Requirements
Do you have experience in Microsoft Word?, * Minimum 10 years of experience in data center, facility management, or critical-infrastructure environments
- Strong leadership experience with proven ability to manage and develop teams
- Technical background in electrical engineering or a related field
- Experience managing customer relationships and conducting client-facing meetings
- Demonstrated success in audit preparation and compliance management
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
Preferred Certifications (Optional)
- Data Center Facility certifications (e.g., CDCP, CDCS, CDCM)
- Electrical or safety certifications
- ITIL Foundation
