Job description
Working within a team environment you will be supporting development teams by assisting with the provision of a multi-disciplinary consultancy service for Sweco's developer clients.
You will be working on Civil Infrastructure engineering projects including development schemes (designing highways, SuDS, levels, earthworks, etc), land regeneration and remediation engineering (ground models, geotechnical and geology etc.) and assisting the wider engineering team. The projects our teams work on span many exciting sectors, including Energy, Logistics and Data storage.
You will be expected to:
- Work in a supervised environment on site and in the office ensuring that the technical content of work is acceptable and prepared in agreed timescales.
- Work in a team environment to deliver projects, reporting to the appropriate team leader or project manager.
- Be capable of working on your own initiative, with appropriate supervision.
- Work in close collaboration with teams in other disciplines.
- Understand and comply with the Company Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and take cognisance of current Health & Safety legislation., Sweco UK&I have an internal resourcing team who are responsible for all recruiting activity. We have a Preferred Supplier List of trusted agencies who we work with on those "hard to fill" roles.
We have defined processes for recruitment applications and it is company policy not to accept speculative CVs. Any speculative CVs received into the business (whether to a manager or member of the resourcing team) will become the property of Sweco and the agency will not be eligible for an introductory fee.
Our Preferred Supplier List was reviewed in November 2024 and we are not looking to add any additional agencies. We'll be reviewing the PSL again at the end of 2025 and non-compliance with the above statements could be detrimental to you having the opportunity to be included.
Requirements
- Have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering which is accredited by the UK Engineering Council with eligibility for at least Incorporated Engineer status.
- Have less than 12 months of relevant work experience (excluding placements).
- Are confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
- Are driven, proactive, and solution-oriented.
- Can work in the UK without restrictions either now or in the future. This is a permanent role, and we're looking for candidates who can grow their careers with Sweco without a time limit.
