Job description
This is a great opportunity for a skilled Data Analyst to join a growing technical team. You'll be responsible for transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that support operational decision-making and improve business performance. The role combines hands-on analytics, dashboard development, and close collaboration with stakeholders across the organisation., * Working with large datasets to clean, structure, and prepare data for analysis
- Building end-to-end dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
- Creating visualisations and data stories to communicate trends, patterns, and insights
- Writing SQL queries including joins, aggregations, and filtering
- Supporting the development and tracking of KPIs and performance metrics
- Providing analytical support to operational and project teams
- Automating reporting processes where possible
- Presenting insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
- Advanced Excel skills including Power Query, pivoting, formulas, lookups, and data cleansing
- Ability to write SQL queries confidently
- Experience building dashboards from scratch
- Ability to analyse large datasets efficiently
- Strong understanding of KPIs, metrics, and data storytelling
- Great communication skills with the ability to explain data clearly
Desirable skills and experience:
- Experience within rail, highways, engineering, or asset management (not essential)
- Experience working with operational or field-based datasets
- Understanding of data modelling or ETL processes
