Job description
The design of disaster recovery strategies for the telecom systems and networking components that ensures reliable, secure, and rapid recovery of telecom services during outages or cyber incidents. Development of a telecom-specific disaster recovery plan aligned with the company's overall OT DR strategy. Define RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective) for telecom services. Work closely with Business Continuity, IT & OT operations team to conduct the disaster recovery testing of telecom services, and tabletop exercises to validate recovery procedures., * Nokia NFMP - Nokia Network Functions Manager for Packet (NFM-P) for managing the Nokia ODN network.
- Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) - Manages Substation Telephony devices VoIP phones, SIP cards and Voice gateways for analogue phones.
- CNMS-NG (Commtel Network Management System - Next Generation) - Manages Avara PDH/SDH devices (alarms and device backup). SNMP trap destination for basic telecoms equipment such as modems, radios, battery chargers, etc. This system manages the majority of the telecoms devices. On going project to make the system geographic redundant.
- Zetron ACOM - Control room telephony system (differs from CUCM but they do interface with one another).
- Keymile UNEM (Unified Network Element Manager) - Manages Keymile and Milegate devices. Strong understanding about the networking and communication components such as data network, IEC 61850, PDH, SDH and MPLS TP.
Requirements
The hands-on experience on the following systems -
- TXCare - OTN TX Care - manage the multiple Xtran networks.
- Cisco TACACS - AAA/Radius solution authenticates users to allow the ability to view or modify Cisco and Nokia (ODN) config when logging into the switch/router.
- Cisco Prime Infrastructure - Cisco Management System for ODN (Operational Data Network) & NGN (Next Generation Network) Routers and switches.
- Cisco Prime Optical - Cisco Prime Optical for managing Cisco ONS SDH nodes.
