Job description
You will lead development of novel Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality user experiences that enable operations analysis and wargaming in support of our product development and our customers. The ideal candidate would be practical, hands-on and a self starter with high growth potential. You will have extensive UE5 production experience with demonstrable environment work (production or shipped installations). A strong artistic eye for composition and detail combined with solid engineering habits (testing, documentation, version control for tools). With a strong background in systems development inside Unreal: editor tooling, Blueprints, editor scripting (Python) and proven delivery of reusable editor/runtime systems.
In this role, you will work on challenging real world problems in a fast-paced environment across our portfolio of programs and products. Develop and maintain core capabilities in Unreal Engine such as a terrain rendering pipeline, vehicle physics models, and many more. You will work with other platform teams at Anduril to ensure our service integrates seamlessly with other core services Integrate various plugins and third party capabilities into our platform, figuring out how to best make use of them and working around or fixing any bugs. Collaborate closely with other teams across the company to enable them to integrate synthetic imagery and bring back lessons learned to help improve our product. Develop cutting-edge Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality simulation tools that model battlefield vehicles to assess performance and integration in complex mission scenarios. Create interactive tools that facilitate human interaction with these simulations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop simulation visuals for sensors, comms, movement, tactical behaviors, weapon effects, electronic effects, command and control, and others.
- Develop and maintain core capabilities in Unreal Engine such as a terrain rendering pipeline, vehicle physics models, and many more.
- Work with other platform teams at Anduril to ensure our service integrates seamlessly with other core services Integrate various plugins and third party capabilities into our platform, figuring out how to best make use of them and working around or fixing any bugs.
- Collaborate closely with other teams across the company to enable them to integrate synthetic imagery and bring back lessons learned to help improve our product.
- Partner with Operations Analysis and other Software Engineering team members to deliver simulations capabilities to create high fidelity immersive environments.
- Partner with capability teams like Mission Autonomy to deliver simulation capabilities to help accelerate product development.
- Work with multi-disciplinary subject matter experts to understand and adequately model pertinent sub-system, system and system of system dynamics.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Unreal Engine?, * Proficient with C++
- Working experience with Python.
- 3 yrs + industry engineering experience in fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Design, Robotics.
- Experience working with Unity and Unreal Engine.
- Proven understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency and code optimisation.
- Experience with high performance and multi-threaded programmingComfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills are a must.
- Demonstrated curiosity and ability to learn outside of core discipline
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active UKSV Security Clearance, * MS in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Rust programming experience
- Experience in a Linux development environment GPU and graphics programming experience, including languages such as HLSL, Vulkan, or CUDA
- Familiarity with training machine learning models, especially for computer vision use cases
- Experience with 3D modelling tools
