Applications Engineer

We are looking for an Applications Engineer who is organised, proactive and comfortable owning both the technical and commercial side of a project. You will work closely with sales, engineering, project managers, suppliers and contractors to shape solutions, prepare technical proposals and support delivery once a project moves forward. Your work will cover estimating, early planning, supplier coordination, document control and helping customers understand precisely what they are getting. The goal is simple. Keep each opportunity moving, reduce uncertainty and support smooth execution.

What you will do

• Review drawings, specifications and surveys to understand the scope
• Build accurate costings, BOQs and technical proposals
• Develop early delivery plans and highlight assumptions, risks and methods
• Liaise with engineering on design choices and product selection
• Support sales during the bidding process with clear technical guidance
• Request and compare supplier quotes
• Attend customer calls to explain solutions and close gaps
• Work with project managers after award to resolve technical queries
• Support variations, value engineering and after-sales clarifications
• Document everything clearly so delivery teams always start with certainty

Do you have experience in Microsoft Excel?, Experience in M&E, electrical, lighting or related engineering fields

• Ability to read drawings and interpret technical requirements
• Strong Excel skills and confidence in handling numbers
• Comfortable speaking with customers and suppliers
• A practical mindset with a sharp eye for detail
• Ability to organise your workload without being chased
• Any experience in estimating or early-stage planning is an advantage
