Java devops engineer

You will join the core team responsible for maintaining and improving the CI/CD pipelines that support hundreds of developers across the organisation. Your main focus will be on Jenkins, Java-based pipeline components, and the related tooling ecosystem (Eclipse, SCM, build tools)., * Maintain, support, and optimize the Jenkins pipeline framework (written in Java).

• Monitor and assess Jenkins core updates, plugin upgrades, and security advisories to ensure a robust and secure CI/CD environment.
• Perform Jenkins upgrades and ensure plugin stability and compatibility.
• Troubleshoot pipeline issues, build failures, and integration problems.
• Manage and upgrade the Eclipse IDE on Windows, including plugin configurations.
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation covering build processes, configurations, and pipeline logic.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure seamless build and deployment operations.

• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8+).
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Jenkins Pipelines, and CI/CD automation in a UNIX environment.
• Experience working with Eclipse IDE, including plugin management.
• Familiarity with build tools such as Ant and Maven.
• Good understanding of Web Services (SOAP).
• Solid knowledge of SCM tools: Subversion and Git.
