Job description
The role of the Programme Management Team is to organise, plan and deliver our courses to be the best they can be, working closely with other teams to ensure excellent instructor and student experience, and to make fast-paced progress towards our mission and overall company goals and targets. We continually pursue scalable and sustainable ways to optimise learning and delivery, striving to ensure we cultivate an environment where people feel supported and encouraged in their tech learning path., The Learning Systems Platform Manager will use their technical knowledge, expertise and experience to manage relevant Learner Management Systems and align multiple different teams who interact with the systems. They should stay active, curious and thoughtful about deepening their understanding of CFG products, programme management and the CFG community. They will use their technical knowledge and collaboration skills to support and enable their team members to do their best work together. They will continually deepen their domain knowledge, working alongside the wider CFG team to ensure all their work is advancing towards the CFG mission.
The Platform Manager will work closely with a Senior Technical Programmes Manager and under the guidance of a Lead Technical Programmes Manager to ensure our platforms are managed effectively, kept up-to-date, and are used to deliver our products to a high standard.
There are four core strands to the Platform Manager role:
- Management of LMS The Platform Manager will be responsible for the management of our learner management system which will include:
- Uploading, configuring, and publishing new courses.
- Maintaining and updating existing courses.
- Managing course enrolment rules, access settings, scheduling, and course expiry functionality. The platform manager will also be responsible for researching, testing, and implementing relevant plugins and third-party integrations to extend functionality, as well as providing technical support to investigate, diagnose, and resolve bugs. The platform manager will also be responsible for researching, reviewing and analysing any suitable LMS alternatives that the company may wish to use in future.

Project Management of Testing and Implementation The Platform Manager will be responsible for organising, implementing and managing any testing cycles, which will include the testing of content being hosted on the platform, workflows, integrations, and general technical support. In these tests the platform manager will act as a project manager.

Website Integration and Updates The Platform Manager will be responsible for approving and enabling any website integrations. These may allow data to pass into and outside of the LMS or connect to other platforms managed by other teams.

Documentation and Reporting The Platform Manager will be responsible for documenting bugs, reporting issues, developing playbooks and supportive materials for other team members when interacting with the LMS., * Oversee the day-to-day administration and maintenance of the LMS including user access management, course catalog structuring, and system configuration.
- Manage theme/plugin selection, configuration, updates, and performance optimisation.
- Coordinate platform upgrades, testing, and deployment schedules to minimise disruption to users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to system functionality, third-party integrations, and user access.
- Monitor platform usability and performance, implementing changes to improve the overall learner journey and content discovery on the WordPress front-end.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, training materials, and FAQs for both internal staff and external users.
- Act as the escalation point for complex support requests related to platform functionality and integration issues.
- Facilitate collaboration between team members and create relevant connections and relationships.
- Listen to your fellow sub-team peers with empathy, seeking to understand any challenges they are facing and where possible helping them to identify solutions, using your experience and domain knowledge.
- Utilise, analyse and manage data to support your manager with feedback analysis and report creation.
- Assist with product expansion as needed to support growth and programme development.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Some experience of working in a technical role, ideally with a LMS or CMS.
- Some experience of working with a Wordpress site or general web development skills
- Familiarity with coding languages (Javascript or other Web Dev languages preferred)
- Familiarity working with the frontend and backend of a platform.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience of working in a team to deliver technical products or programmes.
- Most importantly, you will have a desire to learn about new technologies and systems and share this with the wider team!
DESIRABLE SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Familiarity with product or programme management principles and/or methodologies.
- Previous experience in education, programme coordination, project management or a related role.
- A strong interest in using AI and Automations, or a willingness to learn.
- Experience of leading or managing a team to deliver technical products or programmes.
Benefits & conditions
Salary: £35k - £40k DOE + fully-funded place on the Code First Girls CFGdegree or MLA (market value £10,000)., * Annual leave: 20 days + 7 days over Christmas + 1 Special Occasion Day (+ 8 bank holiday days).
- Optional: Buy or sell 3 days of holiday, 1 Giving back day, option to work 2 days over the festive period and get additional days back.
- Parental leave: 16 weeks full pay for the primary caregiver, 6 weeks full pay for the secondary caregiver. Phased return to the office for the primary caregiver (work for 4 days at full pay for 2 months).
- Flexible working: Our general working hours are 9.30am - 5.30pm with flexibility around these times. Opportunity to work from abroad for up to 90 days a year.
