Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Global Product Owner to oversee and guide the delivery and evolution of one or more assigned SAP ERP systems and specifically SAP ERP Finance / Controlling (FICO). In this role, you will act as the central contact for the business and their Business Relationship Manager, independent of any regional structures.

Reporting to the Head of SAP ERP Platforms, Spend Management & Backoffice Solutions, you will drive operational excellence, lead a global team, and shape solutions that align with our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of SAP ERP experts, including internal and external resources

Serve as the main point of contact for SAP ERP-related initiatives and escalations (specifically for SAP FICO)

Manage end-to-end demand processes in close collaboration with Business Relationship Managers :

Demand intake and prioritization

Solution proposal and estimation coordination

Offer preparation and submission

Resource planning and delivery tracking

Align and gain consensus on priorities, goals, and deliverables for SAP ERP initiatives

Plan and manage team capacity across regions (Europe, APAC, offshore), including contractor coordination and onboarding / offboarding

Ensure consistent coordination with related IT teams (e.g., SAP Basis, Infrastructure, Network)

Oversee SOP approvals, change controls, FFIDs, and user request forms

Contribute to solution design and implementation within SAP ERP and interfacing systems

Ensure compliance with validation, audit, and quality standards

Monitor and report on project and incident status

Support budget planning and track financials for assigned areas

Perform administrative activities (e.g., project setup in Planview, resource allocation, time tracking, reporting)

Conduct regular performance reviews, coach team members, and drive their development

Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field

10+ years of SAP-related IT experience, including team leadership

Deep functional and configuration knowledge in SAP FICO, plus secondary knowledge in another :

Sales & Distribution

Materials / Warehouse Management

Quality Management

Production Planning

APO / IBP

Service Management

Strong experience in project and portfolio management across complex organizations

Experience in validated environments (e.g., pharmaceuticals) is a plus

Understanding of agile and traditional project management methods; certification is a plus

Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and consulting skills

Strong communication skills, able to bridge IT and business perspectives

Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Skilled in influencing, negotiating, and conflict resolution

Service- and results-oriented leadership style

Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively

Willingness to travel occasionally
