Integration Specialist - Insurance/Surescripts/IDX - Outside IR35 - Fully Remote

We are seeking an experienced Integration Specialist to support a key integration programme within the insurance and healthcare domain. This is a hands-on contract role responsible for designing, configuring, and troubleshooting interfaces across multiple systems, with particular emphasis on Surescripts connectivity and IDX-style environments.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring secure and compliant data exchange for core insurance workflows. You'll work closely with internal technology teams, external partners and vendor platforms to deliver smooth interoperability between business systems., * Lead and execute technical integration workstreams involving insurance-based platforms.

• Configure and support data exchanges utilising Surescripts, IDX or similar integration frameworks.
• Design interface specifications, data mappings, message flows, schemas, and validation processes.
• Ensure all integrations meet regulatory, security, and industry-standard compliance (eg, HIPAA-aligned practices where applicable).
• Troubleshoot interface issues, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver fixes rapidly.
• Work with internal stakeholders, vendors, and third-party platforms to ensure seamless connectivity.
• Maintain integration documentation, version control, and governance controls.
• Support test cycles, deployment readiness and post-implementation monitoring.

• Proven background as an Integration Specialist/Integration Engineer in the insurance, health-plan or healthcare-technology sector.
• Hands-on experience with Surescripts interfaces, API connectivity, or similar prescription/eligibility data networks.
• Working knowledge of IDX-style integration environments or comparable enterprise integration platforms.
• Understanding of insurance data flows such as eligibility, claims, benefits and/or medication history.
• Strong technical capability in interface design, data mapping, API consumption, and message validation.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as HL7, FHIR, NCPDP or similar health-data communication formats.
• Experience in multi-system environments, with secure data exchange across internal and external systems.
