Job description
Our Hybrid Platform team is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to work with other cloud, network, and system professionals to ensure the overall operational health (security, availability, performance and reliability) of our workload and network infrastructure., * Be part of trivago's Hybrid Platform team providing the infrastructure foundation for our core products.
- Design, implement and improve the network architecture of our hybrid environment spanning across multiple-clouds, data-centre and our campus.
- Automate complex tasks and independently develop solutions for improvement areas.
- Proactively resolve and perform root cause analysis for critical issues related to our networking infrastructure.
- Share your technical know-how with other teams and document your solutions, concepts, and approaches for future reference.
- Mentor and develop less experienced engineers., We offer self-determined vacation (with a minimum of 25 vacation days), flexible working hours, up to 2 work from home days weekly. Additionally you can work remotely from a different location, within Germany or selected countries abroad for up to 20 days per year. Requirements
- 5+ years work experience in network engineering with a good understanding of cloud technologies.
- A team player who enjoys collaborating with different people and sharing knowledge.
- Experience using Juniper routers, switches and firewalls.
- Understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols. (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
- Solid understanding of modern datacenter architecture. (e.g. IP Fabric)
- Experience in automation using Terraform or Ansible.
- The ability to present complex topics in plain English to non-technical peers and stakeholders.
- Taking part in our networking on-call rotation. (24x7)
Stand out with:
- Experience and interest working with data-centre hardware.
- Experience using Google Cloud Networking.
