Job description
You will be joining a small and dedicated team to help drive the development and innovation of a powerful desktop application within Quorum's suite that optimizes the production of hydrocarbon fluids through complex networks. This tool is used by technical engineering teams throughout the globe. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Lead the Previso Software development team
- Define priorities and product roadmap with internal and external stakeholders
- Balance project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables to achieve long term goals
- Expand cloud functionality and support for integration with other software/services
- Continuously improve the performance of the application's core simulation engine
- Plan and execute short-term tasks through two-week agile sprint cycles
- Assist solution architects in the implementation of the product with new clients
- Handle inbound client support requests, resolving software issues where applicable
- Monitor, detect, and resolve software issues using bug tracking software
- Build testing models in Previso
- Documentation of features and release notes as required
- And other duties as assigned
Requirements

Web application and API development experience

Upstream oil and gas domain experience, preferably within the gas production and processing field

Mathematical modelling experience, i.e., numerical methods (linear programming, root-finding methods, differentiation, and optimization)

Scripting language experience, such as Python/LUA

Good understanding of modern software development practices, such as repository management, CI/CD pipelines, and testing

Procedural programming experience using Fortran Nice to Have:

Windows desktop application development using Visual Studio (.NET/WPF)

Converting requirements into stories and delivering fully tested solutions

Knowledge and experience with Azure DevOps
