Job description

As a Staff Engineer, you will:

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across architecture, development, and infrastructure teams.
  • Design, build, and operate cloud-native products with a focus on reliability, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Drive technical direction, mentor engineers, and guide teams through complex trade-offs.
  • Remain hands-on with coding, testing, and system optimization.
  • Refactor legacy code, improve performance under load, and maintain automated test coverage.
  • Support weekly release cycles and introduce observability dashboards.
  • Contribute to Agile practices, design reviews, and architecture guilds.
  • Evaluate industry trends and propose improvements to scalability, developer productivity, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a Staff Engineer or Technical Lead role.
  • Expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and modern programming languages (Java or Python).
  • Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, and observability tools.
  • Strong mentoring skills and ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Familiarity with DBT Cloud, Jira, Lucid, and IQVIA's data landscape is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
