Job description

Multicraft is looking for a Technical Service Engineer for the Amsterdam region. Reporting to the Technical Service Manager, the Technical Service Engineer's primary responsibility is to address technical inquiries from European customers. Working within the team, you will gain knowledge of the design and application of switch-mode power supplies. You will engage with customers at the design or application level to offer optimal solutions or resolve any application-related issues. Additionally, you will be tasked with modifying standard products to meet specific customer customization requirements by understanding the design of our products. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting customers with technical issues related to product selection, functionality, installation, and safety standards, focusing on application and power supply design;
  • Evaluating and proposing potential circuit modifications to adapt standard units to meet unique customer needs;
  • Managing internal product and technical databases, providing quick support to the sales team;
  • Collaborating with the Product Manager to identify new products or applications for existing product lines, aligning products with market demands;
  • Traveling to customers for in-person technical discussions or to deliver technical training to European clients;
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, managing field returns, and analyzing power supply circuits to identify and resolve issues;
  • Must be eligible to work in the Netherlands and be based in Amstelveen on a long-term basis.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field of study;
  • At least one year of professional experience in power supply or a related industry;
  • In-depth understanding of switch-mode power supply (SMPS) operation and knowledge of electronic component characteristics;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in virtual teams;
  • Capable of working independently and willing to travel internationally;
  • Strong sense of responsibility, with respect for deadlines and schedules;
  • Fluent in English, Chinese, and proficiency in any other European language is advantageous;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ERP system structure;
  • Must be eligible to work in the Netherlands.
