Principal Systems Engineer

We're looking for a Principal Systems Engineer to lead Systems Engineering activities across complex defence projects. You'll own SE work packages, assure ISO 15288 processes, guide multi-discipline teams, and drive the development of high-quality system architectures and artefacts.

What You'll Do

• Lead and represent Systems Engineering across major projects.
• Develop SE artefacts and ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide technical direction across system, hardware, firmware & software teams.
• Lead internal and customer design reviews.
• Support bids, proposals, estimates, and supplier management.
• Mentor engineers and help grow systems capability across the business.

• Degree in Engineering/Maths/Physics or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with full SE lifecycle, V-model, and ISO/IEEE/IEC standards.
• Skilled in requirements, system design, and technical documentation.
• Proficient with DOORS, UML, SysML, Enterprise Architect.
• Background in hardware, software or firmware (embedded preferred).
• Team leadership or line management experience.

Desirable: INCOSE ASEP/CSEP, SME experience, familiarity with NCSC security processes.

• Current SC clearance or Eligible
• UK travel and clean driving licence.
