• Optimize SQL queries for multi-terabyte databases and improve performance.
• Troubleshoot database issues and ensure data integrity and security., * Designing, developing and maintaining robust and scalable database procedures (e.g. data import, data processing) using PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL and AWS database-solution programming languages.
• Optimising SQL queries and database performance by analysing execution plans, indexing strategies and query optimisation techniques.
• Working with multi-terabyte databases, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval and manipulation.
• Troubleshooting and resolving database issues, performance bottlenecks and data inconsistencies.
• Conducting regular performance monitoring and tuning activities to maintain optimal database performance.
• Developing and maintaining database documentation, including data models, entity-relationship diagrams and data dictionaries.
• Helping Java developers to develop and maintain their database-related code (e.g. model design, SQL queries, index creation/update).

• Expertise in PL/SQL, experience with Oracle, and cloud migration.
• Strong SQL performance tuning and database design knowledge.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills., For our PAM Tech & Operations department, we are seeking to hire a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer with expertise in Oracle, Postgres and AWS database solutions, experience working with multi-terabyte databases and a strong understanding of SQL performance tuning.

In this role, your proficiency in PL/SQL and PL/pgSQL, combined with experience with large-scale databases and expertise in AWS database solutions such as RDS and Aurora, will be critical in ensuring optimal database performance and data integrity., * Expertise in PL/SQL and PL/pgSQL programming languages, with a strong understanding of their features and capabilities.

• Experience in migrating on-premises Oracle databases to cloud-based database solutions.
• Knowledge of AWS database and data stockage solutions like RDS, Aurora, S3.
• Strong knowledge of SQL performance tuning techniques.
• Proficiency in database design principles, data modelling and normalisation.
• Experience in database security, access controls and data encryption.
• Knowledge of Informatica is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex data-related issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Readiness to participate in on-call duty (off premises) a few weeks per year.
• Fluent in English.
• Resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate.
