accessibility into procurement (Supply), ICTD digital solutions, and the T4D Digital Technology Playbook. o Develop and implement an Accessibility Classification system to assess, monitor, and prioritise accessibility across all digital initiatives. * Accessibility Auditing and Remediation o Provide technical support for the auditing of digital platforms, including websites, mobile apps, and digital content. o Provide day-to-day support to the Accessibility Helpdesk in resolving tickets/cases. o Recommend and support the implementation of remediation actions to address identified accessibility issues. * Strengthening Partnerships and Knowledge Sharing o Foster and maintain strategic partnerships with other UN agencies and external stakeholders to exchange best practices, tools, and resources. o Contribute to collaborative efforts aimed at improving accessibility across the UN system. o Develop content for internal knowledge sites and training on digital accessibility. Reporting Structure The consultant will be co-supervised by the Digital Impact Division (DID) and the Global Programme Division (GPD) and will work closely with internal staff and external experts. Duration of Contract 12 months with the possibility of an extension. Deliverables * Accessibility Helpdesk Support - day-to-day assistance and recommendations for process improvement. * Generate audit reports identifying accessibility issues across multiple digital platforms, discuss findings with business owners, and track remediation progress. * Provide support in knowledge development and transfer; design and facilitate training on digital accessibility. * Support the strategic expansion and implementation plan for scaling the Accessibility Helpdesk across UN agencies. Acceptance Criteria * Monthly reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) with interpretation, insights, and recommended actions. * Updated relevant documentation as needed. Requirements
Advanced user of screen-reading software and proficient in at least two widely used computer screen readers. * Proficient user of at least one major smartphone or tablet screen reader. * Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. * Proficient in widely used office applications (Adobe Acrobat, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mozilla Firefox) and their accessibility features. * Experience managing projects, tracking progress, and liaising with multiple teams. * Experience with AI, particularly GenAI, and accessibility. * Fluency in English; fluency in other UN languages is a plus.
