Senior Engineer - Cyber Security Backup & Recovery

As a Senior Engineer in the Cyber Security Backup & Recovery squad, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining resilient backup and recovery solutions that safeguard ING against ransomware threats. You will work closely with Product Managers, Architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, automated, and compliant recovery capabilities for our global infrastructure., * Design and implement advanced backup and recovery solutions, including immutable storage and air-gapped architectures.

• Automate recovery processes to reduce manual intervention and improve speed and reliability.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security, Risk, and Infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., DORA, NIS2).
• Monitor system health and recovery readiness, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Contribute to technical strategy and roadmap discussions, ensuring alignment with ING's resilience objectives.
• Document and communicate technical designs and operational procedures clearly to stakeholders.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, backup/recovery solutions, or cybersecurity.
• Strong knowledge of modern backup technologies, immutable storage, and recovery orchestration.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (private/public) and global infrastructure platforms.
• Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible).
• Agile mindset with hands-on experience in Scrum or SAFe methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment.
