Job description

We're partnering with a forward-thinking organisation in Shrewsbury seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their IT team. This is a hands-on role, providing technical expertise across servers, networks, cloud platforms, and critical business systems, ensuring the smooth operation and security of the company's IT environment., As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will take ownership of the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure. You will work on projects, day-to-day support, and optimisation initiatives, helping the business leverage technology effectively and securely., * Manage, maintain, and support Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, and related infrastructure.

  • Administer and troubleshoot networking equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Implement and support virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Assist with IT projects such as migrations, upgrades, and new technology deployments.
  • Monitor systems, networks, and servers to ensure uptime, performance, and security.
  • Document systems, processes, and configurations accurately.
  • Provide escalation support for complex technical issues.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an infrastructure or senior IT support role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, networking fundamentals, and cloud platforms.
  • Experience with virtualisation (VMware or Hyper-V).
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to colleagues and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and take ownership of projects.
