collaborate closely with the Database Platform and Product Engineering teams, applying sound engineering principles to automate and enhance our database infrastructure (PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis/Valkey). A key part of your role will be establishing best practices and building the guardrails that keep our customers data safe. Who we are looking for We're looking for a passionate engineer with a strong platform engineering mindset. While we value a balance between deep database knowledge and robust engineering skills, don't be intimidated. If you are strong in one area and eager to learn the other, we encourage you to apply. Professional Experience: Proven experience managing large-scale, highly available PostgreSQL deployments in a 24/7 production environment. A proactive approach to system reliability, observability, and capacity planning Database Skills: Deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals, replication, and performance tuning. Demonstrable expertise in database administration, security, and reliability best practices. Exposure to distributed database technologies (e.g. YugabyteDB, CockroachDB, TiDB) is a significant plus. Engineering Skills: An automation-first mindset; you'd rather script a solution than repeat a manual task. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible. Proficiency in a major cloud platform (AWS or GCP), including their services and APIs. Experience with scripting or software development in languages like Python or Go. Nice to have: Experience working with Redis/Valkey, MongoDB and/or MariaDB/MySQL. Experience in building self-service tooling that helps engineers, analysts or data scientists do their job more efficiently.
