Portsmouth Water are delighted to have an opening for a Data & Analytics Lead to join our growing IT department on an 18-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will be responsible for refining and delivering our data strategy by improving the availability, quality and use of data across the business. You will also ensure that each business area is equipped to get the most value out of their data., Review our data playbook and bring your experience to add improvements. Create and then implement the plan to rollout the elements of our data playbook. Define the roles and capabilities needed to support the data platform, including the concepts of Data Owners and Data Governance. Scope out the technical changes needed on the data integration, analytics and visualisation tools, and work with our data engineers to test and validate the solution. Set up the data governance forums needed to align the data analyst community and business areas. Engage with each business area and onboard them onto the data platform, identifying what data sources they need, and what their biggest data challenges are. Identify the training requirements for the different data roles needed.
Requirements
Experience running data and analytics teams. Evidence of improving the use of data across a business. Experience of Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Power BI and SQL. Strong knowledge of data governance, data architecture, and modern analytics tools. Excellent stakeholder management skills, especially helping different business areas understand their data needs. Experience in implementing self serve data solutions.
