Job description

As a Test Automation Engineer (Associate) in Kainos, you'll work within a multi-skilled agile team, developing and executing functional automated and manual tests to help the team deliver working application software that meets user needs. You'll do this whilst learning about new technologies and approaches, with talented colleagues who will help you learn, develop and grow.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Java programming fundamentals
  • Experience with Selenium WebDriver for functional and regression testing
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
  • Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Exposure to API testing using tools like Postman or REST Assured
  • Basic knowledge of test frameworks (e.g., TestNG or JUnit)
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • 0-2 years of experience in software testing (automation or hybrid QA roles)
  • Experience using defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr)

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Exposure to cross-browser and responsive UI validation
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level web platforms
  • Participation in sprint planning, story refinement, and QA estimation
  • Ownership of test planning and execution for assigned features
  • Ability to provide clear, actionable test results and defect reports
  • Contribution to continuous improvement in testing processes
  • Familiarity with maintaining test frameworks, environments, and reporting tools
