Job description
We are supporting a multi-site organisation to recruit a Compliance Specialist / Head of Compliance. This role sits at the centre of the company's governance framework, working across UK and European locations to strengthen certification, responsible sourcing, due diligence, management systems and wider corporate compliance.
This is not an operational HSE or environmental role. Instead, the focus is on consistency, documentation, standards, and helping the business stay ahead of changing regulatory requirements.
About the Role
This role is key in leading the organisation's approach to compliance, certification and responsible sourcing.
Responsibilities
- Lead the organisation's approach to compliance, certification and responsible sourcing
- Manage supplier due diligence, assessments and risk evaluation
- Maintain and coordinate certification programmes (FSC, PEFC or similar schemes)
- Support the development and improvement of management systems, including ISO 14001
- Coordinate internal and external audits across multiple sites
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting sustainability, supply chains and governance
- Support compliance activities relating to modern slavery, anti-bribery and ethical sourcing

Requirements
Background in compliance, governance, sustainability, auditing or certification gained within manufacturing., * Strong experience with audit processes (internal auditor or lead auditor qualification ideal)
- Skilled in policy writing, documentation control and process governance
- Confident communicator who can influence across multiple sites and functions
- Organised, structured and able to balance strategic planning with practical needs
