Job description

Job description: The Graduate Systems Engineer supports, under direct supervision, the Server Platforms at CME Group. The incumbent must have a basic understanding of server (Windows and/or Linux) deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and security. Communication and documentation skills are required as the candidate will typically be working with a number of colleagues and internal teams for support and new initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Analyzes requirements, with supervision, and supports existing development/QA platforms Demonstrates knowledge of basic systems (Linux/Windows), distributed computing architecture (client server, intranet/internet), h/w platforms, and resources - CPU, memory, end-user devices, peripherals. Documents deployment and configuration procedures. Defines simple problems and describes the cause and effect relationship. Troubleshoots simple, known issues with support and works with supervision to document problem resolution. Skills: Eagerness to learn, The Graduate Systems Engineer analyzes requirements and supports existing development/QA platforms under supervision. They document deployment and configuration procedures and troubleshoot simple issues with guidance.

Problem-solving and analytical abilities. Good communication and teamwork skills. Experience and knowledge of working with distributed systems. Exposure to working with metrics & monitoring: Splunk, Grafana etc. Experience working with Infrastructure as Code.
