This is not a maintenance role.
It is a mandate to professionalise, stabilise, and future-proof a global IT and cybersecurity function at a point where the organisation has recognised that "good enough" is no longer good enough.
The business is profitable, long-term contracted, and operationally critical. What it now requires is an executive-level technology and security leader who can take ownership of the function, bring clarity where growth has been organic, and ensure that IT and cybersecurity are operating at the standard the organisation's mission demands.
The Mandate.
You will take full executive accountability for global IT and cybersecurity across operations, infrastructure, programmes, governance, and assurance. The environment is highly regulated, safety-critical, and unforgiving of error - which is precisely why this role exists.
In the first 12-24 months, success looks like:
- A clear, board-aligned IT & Security strategy with a defined roadmap
- A function that knows what good looks like, how it is measured, and how it is delivered
- A leadership structure, operating model, and governance framework that supports scale, resilience, and compliance
- Confidence at board level that risk is understood, managed, and communicated clearly
- Global sites operating as one joined-up digital and security ecosystem, not a collection of silos
You will have the backing of the board and the autonomy to act - with the expectation that you take ownership and make things happen, not wait for permission.
It will suit someone who wants to own a critical function, shape its future, and be trusted to do so.
Why This Role Is Compelling.
- True executive remit: direct access to the board and responsibility for decisions that matter
- Stability with substance: long-term contracts, strong profitability, and sustained investment
- Meaningful work: technology and security that underpin products and systems where quality, safety, and reliability are non-negotiable
- Influence, not firefighting: the opportunity to move a capable but under-shaped function to world-class maturity
- Legacy impact: this is a role where what you build will outlast you
