Job description
You will take ownership of planning, implementing, and delivering a structured DevOps migration, working closely with engineering teams to modernise CI/CD pipelines and optimise deployment workflows., * Conducting an initial planning and assessment phase to review existing CI/CD processes and infrastructure.
- Designing and configuring GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including runners, security, and access controls.
- Migrating containerised services into GitLab-based CI/CD workflows with minimal disruption.
- Integrating automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end) into CI pipelines.
- Decommissioning legacy CI/CD tooling and optimising pipeline performance.
- Optionally implementing a hybrid CI/CD approach for non-containerised services where required.
- Producing clear documentation and supporting knowledge transfer at project completion.
Requirements
We're looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to support a defined migration and optimisation project focused on GitLab CI/CD, containerised services, and automated testing. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused engagement suited to contractors who enjoy working across the full DevOps lifecycle and delivering tangible outcomes within a fixed timeframe., * Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer in project-based environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD and pipeline design.
- Solid understanding of containerisation (Docker) and modern deployment practices.
- Experience migrating and modernising CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI integration.
- Experience with cloud platforms and/or Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible).
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
