Job description
Job Purpose:Designing OF retail furniture (counters, CDUs, FSUs, displays etc) for both in-house manufacture (requiring full assembly drawings and BOMS) a mixture of in-house and some subcontract manufacture. System used: Solidworks (Essential experience) Duties:- Making sense of a spread of clients information and turning it into clarity.- Cost Engineering for clients budgets.- Creation of designs from brief, working closely with project managers and account managers.- Creation of prototypes, releasing drawings to production.- Working with varied retail clients including the likes of Armana, New Look, Sainsburys and Pets at Home.- Design and manage the assembly of retail, wholesale and Pop-Up shops.- Creation of designs and models utilizing Solidworks.- Creation of packing and assembly instructions.- Bill of material accuracy within the MRP system- Item data accuracy within the MRP system-Working within a supportive team working on a range of projects. In this role, you will assist with the design from processes including laser machining, bending, injection moulding, laser welding, CNC Routing, edgebanding and printing.
Requirements
- Experienced in data management within an MRP software system
- Design Engineer (2D/3D) with the use of Solidworks
- Bill of material (BOM) creation & maintenance within an MRP software system
- Competent in use of Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams
- Document control
- Creation of written technical documentation
Skills/ Experience Desirable
- Use of CAD software (Solidworks)
- POS or Retail equipment manufacture experience
