Job description

The Website Manager owns the performance, development, and day-to-day management of the company's Shopify-based ecommerce website(s), with a strong emphasis on lead generation. The role is accountable for content, technical operations, UX, SEO, and conversion performance.

Close coordination with Social, Advertising, and Marketing teams is central to ensuring the website effectively supports traffic acquisition, lead capture, and ecommerce revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

Website & Content Management

  • Own and manage all website content across the Shopify platform, including product pages, landing pages, blogs, forms, and supporting assets.

  • Produce, publish, update, and optimise content to support ecommerce sales and lead generation objectives.

  • Write, edit, and quality-assure web copy to maximise clarity, engagement, and conversion.

  • Maintain content standards aligned with brand, compliance, and campaign requirements.

  • Train internal teams on Shopify content management and update processes.

Technical Oversight (Shopify)

  • Act as platform owner for Shopify, including theme management, app integrations, and configuration.

  • Manage apps, domains, and platform integrations relevant to ecommerce and lead capture.

  • Liaise with developers, Shopify partners, and agencies to deliver new features and improvements.

  • Define technical specifications and acceptance criteria for development work.

  • Ensure site performance, stability, security, and scalability.

Ecommerce, Lead Generation & Conversion

  • Optimise product pages, landing pages, and forms to improve conversion rates and lead quality.

  • Ensure effective integration between paid media, social campaigns, and on-site journeys.

  • Support tracking and attribution for ecommerce transactions and lead submissions.

  • Continuously test and refine user journeys to improve engagement and outcomes.

SEO, Analytics & Performance

  • Implement SEO best practice across site structure, content, and metadata.

  • Analyse website performance using Google Analytics and related tools.

  • Use data to identify drop-off points, improve UX, and increase ecommerce and lead conversion.

  • Conduct competitor analysis to inform optimisation and roadmap priorities.

Strategy & Development

  • Own the website roadmap, prioritising initiatives that support ecommerce growth and lead generation.

  • Manage website projects end to end, from briefing to delivery.

  • Align website development with wider digital, social, and advertising strategies.

  • Manage website budgets, platform costs, and agency spend.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with Social, Advertising, and Marketing teams to ensure the website supports campaign objectives and traffic quality.

  • Coordinate with creative, performance, and CRM teams to deliver consistent, conversion-focused experiences.

  • Manage external agencies and suppliers against defined deliverables and timelines.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG).

  • Maintain adherence to GDPR and data protection requirements, particularly around lead capture and tracking.

  • Ensure website activity aligns with ecommerce, privacy, and regulatory standards., * Managing website and platform budgets.

  • Training teams on Shopify content updates and workflows.

  • Developing technical briefs and specifications for ecommerce and lead-generation projects.

Role Focus

The role has full ownership of the Shopify ecommerce website, with lead generation as a core success metric. It requires tight, ongoing collaboration with Social, Advertising, and Marketing teams to ensure the website effectively converts traffic into qualified leads and ecommerce revenue.

Requirements

Do you have experience in UX?, * Proven experience managing Shopify ecommerce websites.

  • Strong understanding of lead generation and conversion optimisation.

  • Solid knowledge of SEO best practice for ecommerce and content-led sites.

  • Experience using Google Analytics and related performance tools.

  • Understanding of UX/UI principles and conversion-focused design.

  • Project management capability; Agile experience desirable.

  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
