Job description
As a Cyber Assurance Officer the engineer will triage and handle cyber security alerts and tickets, as well as being the first escalation point for more junior members of the team. Engineer will participate in larger pieces of security work, including the checking of security controls and being proactive in team projects. Engineer will produce cyber risk assessments, monitoring controls, audits, and advising projects on cyber risk factors. Engineer may be required to supervise more junior members of the team and also deputise for more senior members of the team from time to time.
Requirements
- Degree level qualification relevant for the role or demonstrable equivalent level of experience.
- Specialist knowledge acquired through post graduate diploma level or equivalent experience. Previous experience of working in the cyber security field. Previous experience of working to KPI's/KRI's.
- Significant involvement in the support of Microsoft server products, data communications and networking technologies (LAN, x400, TCP/IP, RS-232) and printer functions
- Previous experience of implementing and supporting multi-user applications using databases, in particular the ICE system
- Previous experience of documenting systems and procedures and preparing training materials
- Experience supporting users in a similar environment
- Practical experience of supporting computer hardware printers, software applications and Windows Service 2003 - 2012
- Practical experience of MS SQL Server and Web Server products
- Knowledge of digital best practice, information security and information governance.
- Working knowledge of control / assurance frameworks.
- Understanding of security categorisations,
- Digital Assessment Technology Criteria and DPIAs.
- Proven ability for attention to detail.
- Advanced keyboard skills and the ability to maintain systems.
- Able to use own judgement to work within broad processes and policies.
- Able to effectively evaluate multiple options to aid decision making.Demonstrates excellent time management skills.
- Able to compile a legal register.
- Excellent communication skills in order to convey technical digital / cyber issues to a non-technical digital / cyber audience.
