Job description

We are currently looking for an Infrastructure Manager for our IT Services client. This Infrastructure Manager role is mainly remote, with occasional UK office visits as required by the business. The contract for the Infrastructure Manager position is for approx 5 months, with potential to extend, operating outside IR35., * Incident Management: Lead investigations into faults, outages, and incidents, ensuring effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.

  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and mitigate risks to CNI infrastructure, ensuring that issues are addressed promptly and communicated clearly to stakeholders.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop, implement, and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies for critical systems.
  • Patch Management: Plan, implement, and enforce patch management processes across all infrastructure assets.
  • Asset Management: Maintain an up-to-date asset inventory aligned with vulnerability management requirements.
  • Firewall & Security Policies: Ensure full compliance with security policies by managing and documenting all firewall rule changes.
  • Monitoring & Metrics: Deploy and manage monitoring tools for early issue detection and maintain comprehensive infrastructure metrics.
  • Access Control: Define and enforce robust access policies for CNI systems, ensuring all access is fully logged and compliant with security standards.
  • Service Catalogue: Develop and maintain a service catalogue for all CNI services, outlining service delivery and SLAs.
  • Performance Monitoring: Define, track, and drive adherence to SLAs, KPIs, and compliance benchmarks.
  • Real-time Dashboards: Create and maintain dashboards that offer visibility into infrastructure health, performance, and compliance.

Requirements

  • DevSecOps Expertise: Strong technical background in DevSecOps, with hands-on experience in managing infrastructure security.
  • Relevant Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Industry Certifications: Examples include CISSP, CISM, CCNP Security, ITIL Foundation, or CompTIA Security+.
  • Proven Experience: Minimum 5 years in infrastructure management or security roles, ideally within critical national infrastructure (CNI) or regulated sectors.
  • Scripting & Automation: Proficient in tools like PowerShell, Python, and Ansible to drive automation.
  • Security Knowledge: Strong understanding of security principles, firewall management, vulnerability management, and compliance requirements.
  • IAM Expertise: Hands-on experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) frameworks.
  • Patch Management: Experience in patch management, including scheduling, compliance monitoring, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Disaster Recovery: Expertise in designing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery and backup solutions for critical systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyse and resolve issues, with a focus on root cause analysis and long-term solutions., * Automation
