Job description

At Circular11, we're turning hard-to-recycle plastic waste into a critical material for the built environment. We're developing advanced manufacturing processes to use mixed, variable plastic streams in the production of plastic lumber, a timber-alternative that can be used in outdoor infrastructure., To help us get there, we're looking for an analytics engineer with 1-3 years of experience to turn raw operational data into structured, reliable and actionable assets. In this role, you will build robust data pipelines, prepare high-quality datasets for machine learning, and deliver mission-critical reporting that powers both daily operations and long-term strategic decision making.

Joining a seed-stage company means you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our Technology & Data team and the wider data culture. You'll have opportunities to help mentor junior members of staff as the organisation grows, and you'll receive coaching to support your growth as a data professional.

If you want to work at the intersection of manufacturing, sustainability, and data, we'd love to meet you.

This role is expected to be in-person 4 days per week at our workshop, expected to be in Fareham but final location to be confirmed. Alternative hybrid arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

What You'll Do

Design and build robust data pipelines:

  • Integrate data from key sources into our analytical platform.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency and reliability.
  • Prepare data for use in day-to-day reporting, long-term decision making and machine learning model development.

Design, build and automate key analytical reports:

  • Working with stakeholders to develop key performance indicators and other metrics for effective tracking of business performance.
  • Design and develop reports which provide a user friendly interface to understand progress against KPIs and further explore data.
  • Maintain and update reports as requirements evolve.
  • Use data to enable core operational business processes and regulatory reporting.

Strategic Contributions:

  • Shaping and enforcing of coding, data modelling and data governance standards.
  • Shaping the long-term data strategy of the business.
  • Providing guidance to junior members of staff to support their development.
  • Communicating progress to stakeholders and training staff to use reports effectively and efficiently., * Impact First: We exist to confront the plastic crisis head-on. Every decision we make is measured against its ability to reduce waste, ensuring that our legacy is one of measurable planetary good.
  • Global Responsibility, Local Action: Solutions to plastic waste must work everywhere. By designing technology that can be deployed in emerging and underserved markets, we close the gap where recycling systems are least mature, yet impact is needed most.
  • Manufacturing as a Force for Good: We reimagine manufacturing as not just a process of production, but a model of stewardship. We aim to set new standards for what smart manufacturing can do in the world.
  • People at the Centre: We understand our company as not just a set of systems and processes, but as a network of relationships. Our team members are not cogs in a machine but people with aspirations, potential, and voices that matter.
  • Integrity Without Compromise: We hold ourselves to account in every action. Whether in our environmental footprint, our relationships, or our operations, we try to embody transparency, honesty, and responsibility, as the foundations of trust.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Terraform?, You are an engineer who enjoys building scalable, high-impact data solutions and collaborating across disciplines. You care about code quality, data reliability, and enabling others. You're motivated by the opportunity to use your skills for environmental impact., * 1-3 years experience designing robust and scalable dimensional data models.

  • 1-3 years experience ingesting and transforming data using Python and SQL.
  • 1-3 years experience automating data pipelines with orchestration tools, ideally Dagster.
  • 1-3 years experience with cloud-based infrastructure, ideally AWS.
  • 1-3 years experience developing clean, user-friendly BI reports, ideally with PowerBI.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with data lakehouse architectures, ideally including iceberg formatted tables.
  • Understanding of CI/CD tooling such as Git, Github Actions and Terraform.
  • Experience working with manufacturing data is a plus, but not essential.
