Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering and technology organisation based in Telford. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer looking to develop their skills within a supportive design and project environment.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, supporting the design, development, and delivery of electrical systems for industrial and technology-driven projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of electrical systems and schematics
  • Produce electrical drawings, layouts, and documentation using CAD software
  • Support senior engineers with calculations, specifications, and technical reports
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and project requirements
  • Participate in design reviews and project meetings
  • Liaise with internal teams including mechanical, controls, and project engineering
  • Provide technical support during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning phases

Requirements

Do you have experience in Electrical systems?, * Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Familiarity with electrical design tools and CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar)
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Keen to learn and develop within an engineering design environment

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Placement year or internship experience in an engineering environment
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, power distribution, or control systems
  • Awareness of UK electrical standards and regulations
