Job description

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Snowflake data platform, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration solutions from multiple sources, including clinical, operational, and commercial systems.

  • Implement best practices for data modeling, data warehousing, and analytics optimization. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Define and enforce data governance, data quality, and security standards across the platform.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance, reliability, and operational issues.

  • Stay current with Snowflake features, cloud data trends, and emerging data technologies.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members on Snowflake best practices and architecture.

Requirements

We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Data Platform Lead to own the design, development, and support of our Snowflake-based data platform. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical leader and contributor, enabling the company to centralize, integrate, and manage critical clinical, operational, and commercial data. This role requires deep technical expertise in cloud data platforms, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, regulated environment., * 5+ years in cloud-based data engineering or data platform roles, with at least 3 years hands-on experience with Snowflake.

  • Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting large-scale data platforms and pipelines.
  • Strong background in integrating multiple data sources, including structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience in life sciences, biotech, or healthcare data is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with data governance, MDM, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, GDPR) in a data platform context., * Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Snowflake certifications (SnowPro Core or equivalent) a plus.
  • Strong understanding of cloud ecosystems (Azure).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver complex data platform projects end-to-end.

Skills/Specialist knowledge

  • Hands-on expertise in Snowflake architecture, data modeling, and performance tuning. Strong SQL, Python, and ETL/ELT development skills.

  • Knowledge of modern data integration tools (e.g. DBT, MuleSoft).

  • Familiarity with BI/analytics tools (Power BI or similar).

  • Understanding of security best practices, including access control, encryption, and audit logging.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and adapt to changing business priorities.
