Job description

Join our SimpliFi program as a Data Engineer with expertise in Master Data Management (MDM) and Reference Data Management (RDM). You will play a key role in building and optimizing a global data ecosystem hosted on Azure, designed to unify financial data across Operating Entities (OEs) and enable cost efficiency. This central data pool integrates with SAP and provides a harmonized data model, standardized processes, and advanced reporting capabilities through PowerBI.

As part of this strategic initiative, you will help shape the future of data management, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance across global solutions.

What you do

  • Design and implement data ingestion and transformation pipelines across multiple domains.
  • Develop new functionalities for data pipelines, including harmonization and KPI calculations.
  • Lead requirement analysis sessions for MDM/RDM with business stakeholders.
  • Define and implement architecture for MDM/RDM workflows and governance.
  • Collaborate with enterprise teams to deliver scalable and robust solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards in all designs.
  • Provide Level 3 support for complex technical issues and guide resolution efforts., When we do work with recruitment agencies, that engagement is formalized by a contract. Fees will only be paid when there is a contract in place. Without a contract in place, we will not accept invoices on unsolicited resumes, even if the candidate was ultimately employed by Allianz.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering and 1+ year with Microsoft Azure (Synapse, Databricks).
  • Strong skills in Python, SQL (advanced), and big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Spark).
  • Expertise in data warehousing, modeling, ETL development, and batch/streaming architectures.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure deployment via Terraform.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end MDM/RDM implementation using tools like SAP MDG, Informatica, Ataccama.
  • Understanding of data matching methodologies, hierarchy management, and governance strategies.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills with a customer-focused mindset.
