Job description

  • Define and optimize Data Models & Semantic Layers for Business Intelligence users and feature engineering for data science in GCP BigQuery.
  • Design, build, test, QA assessment and CI/CD of stable & scalable end-to-end data ETL/pipelines to perform complex processing of batch and real-time massive volumes of data in a multi-tenancy Big Data environment and output insights back to business systems according to their requirements.
  • Working with the Architecture Team to evolve the Strategy to Mature the data movement and transformation capabilities in Vodafone, including Solution Architectural decisions aligned with platform architecture and tooling.
  • Assets and Define the Internal Home-made software & technologies, as well as 3rd Party Provider Solutions to be used on the "Data Ocean" and investigating new technologies to identify where they can bring benefits.
  • Rebuild/optimize existing Local EDW to Migrate to Dedicated Solution on the Google Cloud Platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Big Data engineer.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Wharehouse implementation or related field.
  • Professional certification in cloud platforms (, GCP Data Engineer, AWS Big Data, Azure Data Engineer) is a plus.
  • Mandatory English speaking and writing
  • Experience in Agile Scrum Methodology
  • Solid experience in data modeling & architecture techniques (3NF, star/snowflake schemas, data vault) and data architecture and integration best practices.
  • Deep Knowledge of SQL& developing ETL/ELT pipelines using modern frameworks (, SQL Procedures, dbt, Google Dataflow).
  • A bonus to have experience with cloud data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) & BigQuery
  • Knowledge RDBMS Teradata, Oracle, Postgres, SQLServer.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Cloud Build.
