Job description
We are looking for a Systems Engineer with experience in Rockwell - Studio 5000, Compact logix, Flex 5000, Allen Bradley - PLC 5 Software and Hardware, and Aveva InTouch to join our team in Sheffield.
As a Systems Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design, development, integration, and testing of complex systems tailored to meet the needs of our clients. You'll work across the full project lifecycle, turning technical requirements into robust, real-world solutions.
Collaboration is at the heart of this role, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are technically sound, aligned with project goals, and delivered on time and within budget. With each project, you'll contribute to the delivery of high-quality, innovative systems that make a real impact., You will:
- Successfully complete all identified training both in-house and external, as required.
- Develop system architectures, designs, and detailed specifications to meet client requirements.
- Integrate various subsystems and components to form a cohesive system, ensuring compatibility and performance.
- Execute system testing and validation activities to verify that systems meet design specifications and performance criteria.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including requirements, design specifications, test plans and operator manuals.
- Analyse and translate client requirements into functional and non-functional specifications.
- Participate in technical discussions with the project teams and identify and resolve technical issues.
- Support commissioning at client sites.
- Support and specify procurement activities as required.
- Be actively involved in the manufacture, assembly and testing of bespoke systems.
- Suggest changes and improvements if opportunities arise.
- Engage in continuous learning to develop technical skills and knowledge relevant to system integration.
- Communicate with clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction with the delivered system.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, workshop and project management, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, procedures and protocols.
- Support the delivery of the project scope to company quality management system, process and procedures.
- Have base knowledge of client specific standards and international standards.
- Engage in quality and technical reviews.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Systems engineering?, If you're a detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment, this is a great opportunity to grow your expertise and deliver meaningful results., * Minimum of 2 years' experience with a relevant qualification or 4 years' experience in systems engineering or equivalent role.
- Good understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies.
- Good knowledge of Software Packages relevant to the role of a Systems Engineer i.e. Rockwell - Studio 5000, Compact logix, Flex 5000, Allen Bradley - PLC 5 Software and Hardware, and Aveva InTouch.
- Familiarity and experience with system integration processes, tools and technologies.
- A basic understanding of industry and company quality management systems, process and procedure.
