Job description

We are looking for a Systems Engineer, to join our Engineering team. This position is responsible for delivering 3D equipment layouts, 2D engineering layouts, as well as platform and support framework structures for sold project installations within UK Engineering. The role is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of customer service and satisfaction by employing innovative design solutions that align with TNA's established design philosophies, * Generate 3D systems layouts of equipment on sales order projects ensuring designs are configured to TNA's interface standards and within set timeframes.

  • Produce 2D engineered layouts and BOMs from the 3D models generated.

  • Design steel structures of platforms and support framework using 3D modelling and subsequently arrange 2D manufacturing drawings.

  • Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on structures and calculate static and dynamic loading of the equipment to ensure the designed structures are suitable.

  • Create a collection of Service drawings as required, including Electrical Routings, Pipework and Civils.

  • Carry out site surveys at customer's plants to ensure all details of an installation are obtained.

  • Prepare guidelines and libraries to ensure standard designs are always used for structures.

  • Simplify 3D models into primitives for Virtual Reality purposes.

  • Design and develop layouts to meet performance, operational and cost specifications. Development includes assembly, commissioning, testing and on-going refinement

  • Liaise with and establish excellent relationships with customers, colleagues, suppliers and internal departments.

  • Generate designs and drawings that are of optimum quality. Consider all upstream and downstream effects on the business, internal customers and end users.

  • Be the internal point of contact for Project Managers and communicate updates and changes to ensure all milestones are met, as per the schedule.

  • Work closely with all departments, ensuring you are a key team member in transitioning new designs through documentation, prototyping, timely production and testing.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified Mechanical Engineering (or similar engineering discipline)
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role with some autonomy in structural design special purpose machinery and knowledge of conveying systems, vibratory and horizontal motion equipment preferable
  • Experience with 3D drawing and modelling systems - Inventor preferred
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Vault, AutoCAD and MS Office products are required
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards and regulations that need to be adhered to is essential.
