Job description

We're on the hunt for a unique Website Developer to join our small but mighty team. If you're looking for a fully flexible job that allows you to do what you love, while giving our clients the tools they need to excel, then read on...

Day-to-day of a website Unicorn

  • Working on one to two website builds at a time
  • Taking on additional website bug fixes, updates, and change requests
  • Using your experience to recommend the best for our clients
  • Being a creative problem-solver
  • Adding input into the design and UX process based on your experience
  • Having a passion for marketing and contributing to our wider goals for our clients

Requirements

Do you have experience in WordPress?, * 6+ years experience in website development

  • You've mastered WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, and other common platforms
  • You are fluent in CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
  • You are passionate about websites that really work, and will advocate for beneficial changes
  • You'll be detail-oriented and use your initiative to make websites sparkle
  • Ideally, you'll have experience in, and a passion for, design and UX (but you don't have to be a graphic designer!)
  • Bonus points if you have experience with Google Suite, Hostinger, AWS, Figma, email marketing, graphic design, and project management tools
  • We'd be thrilled if you're experienced in back-end development and server-savvy
  • You love to be well-organised
  • And you'd never forget a favicon!

Benefits & conditions

  • We pay a generous hourly rate, and we pay for the hours you work
  • This role likely sits somewhere between full and part-time. Think 20-30 hours a week.
  • You decide when you work, and how many hours you work. All we ask is you try to be available for client meetings if applicable
  • Statutory holiday pay + unlimited time off so that you're living life without limits
  • Opportunities to collaborate with a diverse range of clients from all over the UK
  • Be a member of a supportive, fun team of like-minded marketers, where creativity thrives
  • We provide you with a laptop, stationery, and team outings when we can!

Who the heck are we?

We are a micro-business of marketers, determined to be as un-agency as possible. We work with small to medium businesses to drive success. We've been around for 7 years now, and we're looking for a new team member to help us grow. We have no bosses, supervisors or managers - no classic heirarchy at all - and no set working hours. We're the ultimate flexible workplace!

So why 'unicorn'? We're glad you asked! Firstly, a 'marketing unicorn' is someone who is experienced and skilled in a wide range of marketing specialities, so they bring all their experience to the table in a highly valuable way. And now we're looking for a 'website unicorn' to join us!

Secondly, when we started out as two 20-30-something women, trying to do something less than conventional all by ourselves, we wanted to be sure we were working with the right companies. So if a prospective client had a problem working with a company named 'unicorn', then we knew they weren't our people, boom!

So if you're a creative thinker, problem solver, have a passion for websites and a history of making things happen, we can't wait to meet you!
