Job description

Working closely with our BI Developer, Analysts and Property Services colleagues you will play a critical part in achieving Curo's vision: that by 2034 everyone feels proud about the quality of our homes. You will create a range of products that will enable us to understand how well our homes are performing, make us less reactive and maximise the impact of our planned activities.

What you'll be doing

  • Assemble a broad range of data sources and introduce them to Curo's Data Layer (data warehouse), performing any necessary transformations so they become accessible, quality datasets.
  • Use SQL to perform calculations on this data so, for example, Curo can assess progress against their Home & Place Standard and identify homes that share similar features.
  • Combine aspects of Curo's works order, property component and customer data to create models that identify trends in the way they influence each other. Use these to develop predictive capabilities so we can anticipate future repairs and quantify the impact of different investment options.
  • Develop a suite of views and semantic models that give non-expert colleagues sources they can continue to explore and help the Analysts to carry out advanced analytics into the future.
  • Gain a good understanding of Curo's Property Services operations and the ultimate aims of this project. Build strong relationships with associated stakeholders so their specific requirements can be identified and the resulting products accurately designed and robustly tested.
  • Collaborate with the BI Developer to ensure developments to the Data Layer align with the overall architecture.
  • Establish strong working relationships with Analysts in the Data & Insight Team to share knowledge; align my work with existing business concepts, measures and working practices; and create products that will meet their needs.
  • Document all my work clearly in Curo's Data HQ (data catalogue) so that anyone can understand how it has been constructed and how any fixes can be applied.
  • Take an active role in supporting the wider team where necessary to deliver team objectives and goals.

Requirements

  • Have over 2 years' experience of creating database objects including tables, views, stored procedures etc.
  • Have over 2 years' experience of analysing, manipulating and transforming data within SQL.
  • Have experience of collecting requirements from operational colleagues and translating them into robust technical solutions.
  • Have experience of building strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and be able to communicate with them in a way that they understand.
  • Have experience of building predictive models - or at least a reasonable knowledge of languages that enable statistical/predictive modelling.
  • Have some knowledge of property management in a social housing setting - or be able to acquire this quickly.
  • Be able to work with large volumes of structured and unstructured data, identifying intelligence and trends.
  • Be able to produce accurate, comprehensive and clear written documentation that enables seamless handover at the project end.

Benefits & conditions

Beyond a salary of up to £46,500 and the chance to make a difference every day, you'll get:

  • 26 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays), increasing to 29 days
  • Your birthday off as an extra holiday
  • Up to 10% matched pension contribution
  • Hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 days at home)
  • Flexible benefits which might include a Health Cash Plan
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme for your wellbeing
