Senior data engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that our data systems are reliable, scalable, and capable of delivering actionable insights. As a Senior Data Engineer you will play a key role within our Data organization making sure all roles within the team can fulfill their responsibilities. Therefor in this role, you will have significant impact on both IT as well as our business.

Being a senior member of the team, you endeavor to support and closely work with your direct colleagues in the data team to help them develop their skills and overall performance.

What will you do?

• Designing and developing data pipelines and ETL processes;
• Be responsible for data ingestion from various sources;
• Maintenance and usage of tools for Data Lake, Data warehouse and Data processing;
• Working with data related systems and tools within e.g. the Microsoft Azure stack;
• Structuring and cleaning unstructured data;
• Facilitate cross functional collaboration and engagement.

Are you a skilled Senior Data Engineer with a passion for building robust data pipelines and transforming raw data into valuable insights?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with at least 6 years of data engineering experience;

• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala;
• Proven knowledge of SQL and database systems;
• Experience with Databricks and Azure Data Factory (Fabric) or a similar ETL/ELT tools is required;
• Familiar with analytic platforms and tools like Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure ML, git, API's and PowerBI (cloud-based data platforms) is a plus;
• Experience with Spark, data engineering pipelines and related Big Data technologies helps;
• Experience and/ or affinity with Agile way of working;
• You are proficient in communication in English and preferably also Dutch;
• You can tackle complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Infrastructure as code using Terraform/Terragrunt;
• Experience with build automation and CI/CD pipelines;
• Experience in Databricks admin (Workspaces, Unity Catalog, Volumes, Ext volumes, etc.).
