Job description
We are seeking a dedicated Support Engineer to join our technical support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert assistance to clients and internal teams, resolving complex technical issues related to computer networks, hardware, and software. The Support Engineer will deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure across various platforms., * Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for hardware, software, and network issues across Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Resolve problems related to computer networking, LAN, VPNs, firewalls, and operating systems efficiently and professionally.
- Assist users with desktop support tasks including hardware setup, configuration, and maintenance.
- Utilise tools such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, Jira, and other ticketing systems to log incidents and track resolution progress.
- Support the setup and configuration of network devices and peripherals to ensure optimal performance.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams via help desk channels, maintaining high levels of customer service.
- Document technical procedures and solutions clearly for future reference.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify recurring issues and implement preventative measures.
Requirements
Do you have experience in macOS?, * Proven experience in IT support or a similar technical support role specialising in computer networking, hardware, or software troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure, VPNs, firewalls, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and desktop support.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow or Jira is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and understanding of network security principles.
- Ability to work independently whilst also being a team player in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Support Technician (MCST) are advantageous.
