Job description
We are currently seeking to fill the follwing position at our location in Vienna. 1 Senior AI Researcher (m/f/x) Digital Experience Monitoring - Full time/Part time Role description: We¿re hiring an applied AI researcher who bridges product management and software engineering. You will own end-to-end discovery and prototyping for AI in Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM): understand user pain points and telemetry signals (RUM, logs, traces, metrics), identify high-impact AI opportunities, build proof-of-concepts with our in-house stack and modern AI tooling, and partner with PMs and engineering to land them on the roadmap.
We offer this role full-time and are happy to consider part-time options starting at 30 hours per week.
Your tasks:
- Bridge product and engineering to discover, prototype, and validate AI capabilities for DEM.
- Conduct applied research in scalable data processing; design efficient algorithms and architectures for large-scale data (e.g., pattern detection, multi-dimensional cube analytics).
- Build preprocessing pipelines for high-volume telemetry (logs, metrics, traces, RUM) and apply LLMs/generative AI to surface user insights.
- Rapidly prototype features (e.g., incident summaries, anomaly/root-cause hints, UX pattern insights), harden for scale, and define success metrics.
- Collaborate with engineering and stakeholders to operationalize algorithms; present findings to PM/dev teams and drive roadmap inclusion.
- Ensure privacy, security, and responsible AI; monitor production impact and iterate based on feedback.
Requirements
- PhD/MSc in Computer Science, AI, or related field; track record of independent research (publications/conferences).
- Strong software engineering background (ideally Java) and experience building data analytics systems with ML frameworks.
- Expertise/interest in performance optimization and algorithms (indexing, pattern matching, sketching, query optimization).
- Hands-on with streaming/batch data (Kafka, Flink/Spark), OLAP/time-series analytics, and vector search/RAG with LLMs.
- Familiarity with observability/DEM signals (RUM, logs, traces, metrics), anomaly detection, and multivariate time-series modeling.
- Clear communicator with strong stakeholder skills; excellent English (oral and written).
Benefits & conditions
- We offer attractive compensation packages and stock purchase options with numerous benefits and advantages.
